I really, really enjoyed this story by L.B. Dunbar. Small town romances are for enjoyable to me. They make me want to pack up and move to one.
In Speak From the Heart, we get the story of Jess and Emily. Jess is a single father, and Emily is back to visit her grandmother. I love the these two both tried to stay away from each other, but their pull to one another was so strong. The most adorable character? Jess’s super cute daughter Katie. Katie doesn’t speak though, for reasons unknown to everyone. Emily has such a way with her that you couldn’t not love Emily. Jess felt the same was. Jess could be a bit of a grump and a tad rash when it came to Emily’s interactions with Katie, but it’s understandable. This couple made each other better and was what the other needed. I loved that these characters are a little bit older than most in other romances. Well in to their 30s, this romance was a hit with me. Loved it!
