My Review:

Melanie Harlow has become one my go to authors. Everything I’ve read from her is so uniquely written. This small town story was one of my favorites this summer. 

Griffin a sexy small town mechanic. Served time in the Marines but a little closed off. Yes, he has his close friends and family and he’s super loyal to those around him.

Enter Blair. Blair and Griffin have an instant connection. Of course, she’s only passing through town. She happens to blow out her tire in Bellamy Creek. A cute town town. Blair comes from a privileged life, that she no longer wants a part of. She’s brave and strong, if a bit naive. I admire how she wants to live her life her way, and went in pursuit of that, even with very little money. 

I’m thinking I should move to Michigan. All these hot guys! Griffin is a little abrupt but sweet underneath this exterior. He’s had to build a wall around himself to keep from getting hurt again. But under that wall he’s all warm. Blair is headed to my favorite place, Cloverleigh farms!! We even get a bit of Frannie in this book. 

I loved Drive Me Wild. I can tell this new series will be a favorite. The characters we meet already made an impression on me. I can’t wait for more!!

Switching off the lights, I followed her out onto the sidewalk, locking the door behind us. “I need a quick shower and change of clothes. Want to come up with me?”

“Sure.”

I was following her up the stairs to my apartment, looking at her ass and wondering if she had sexual rules and how long it would take me to break them, when I realized she was still talking.

Shit, had she just asked me a question?

At the top of the stairs, she turned around and faced me. “So? Are you going to?”

I stood close. Ridiculously close. So close I could smell her—vanilla and lemon—and she could probably smell me—sweat and motor oil.

“Am I going to what?”I asked, looking at her lips.

She licked them. “Listen to me.”

“Oh. Yeah. I am.” But at that moment, I was pretty sure I was going to do something else to her too.

Suddenly she stepped back. “Good,”she said, her cheeks flushed pink. “On second thought, I think I’ll wait outside. I’m a little warm, and there’s a nice breeze.”

“Okay. I’ll be out in a few minutes.”

Nodding, she turned and descended the stairs so slowly, I wondered if she was dizzy. I watched her hand sliding along the wooden rail, thinking dirty thoughts.

On the landing, she pushed the door open and disappeared from view, but I still couldn’t breathe right.

What would she have done if I’d put my mouth on hers like I’d wanted to just now? Would she have kissed me back? Would she have welcomed my hands on her skin? Or would she have kneed me in the balls and told me to keep my filthy fingers to myself?

She wasn’t like any other girl I’d ever met, which was both the problem and the allure. I didn’t know how to read her.

But damn, I wanted her something fierce.

I took an ice cold shower, hoping it would help.

It didn’t.

My Review:

Wow!! I would have never guessed this is the first book by Ava Ryan. It’s such a great debut. Her writing is like a seasoned author. 

Ah! I loved Carly. She’s not your ordinary princess. She sassy and feisty... She’s not quick to fall for Damon’s charms. Damon instantly won me over. There’s just something about him and his alpha-ness. 

It’s was an quick read that I really enjoyed. You’ll quickly become hooked. And you’ll love Damon’s brothers as well. Their books are coming next!

My Review:

Corinne Michaels has knocked it out of the park again. Sean Arrowood is the professional baseball player. He’s the brother that is living his dream. I loved him, although he can’t claim the spot and my number one Arrowood brother. That still belongs to Declan.  

The One for Me is a wonderfully written friends to lovers that is filled with laughter, love and heartbreak. Devney Maxwell has been Sean’s best friend forever. These two are so completely in love with each other, but it’s so great for them to actually realize it. They’ve never really  entertained the idea of crossing that line. Once they do, it’s sparks everywhere!!! 

Devney is a wonderful, sassy woman that is perfectly suited for Sean. She’s amazing but hasn’t told Sean what happened while she was away at college. I couldn’t stop reading, this small town is a page turner and will leave your heart full of love!

Excerpt:

“Don’t play that crap with me, Sean Arrowood. I know you better. You want the wife and kids. You always have. The issue that you have is that you’re stupid.”

“Stupid?”

She nods. “Yup. S-T-U-P-I-D. And dumb.”

“They mean the same thing.”

“It required the extra punctuation at the end.”

God, I love the side of her that is smart-mouthed, fearless, and relaxed. She’s only this way with me. Or at least, that’s what I’d like to think.

The last ten years have been hard on our friendship. We both went off to college, I had baseball and she was studying. We’d see each other on breaks, but after the accident that changed the trajectory of my life, I stayed in Maine, and we rarely saw each other.

However, when I had a series in New York, Devney came. If I was in Philly, she would find a way to meet me, and I flew her down to Tampa a few times.

Now, though, I’ll be around her so much more, and I know these feelings aren’t going to go away, they’ll get stronger.

Yeah, I guess I really am stupid.

“Well, I may be stupid, but at least I’m not settling.”

She sits up, slapping her hand on the couch cushion. “Settling?”

“Yeah. You may love Oliver, but he doesn’t make you crazy.”

Devney shifts back. “You’re making me crazy right now.”

“Good.”

“You’re infuriating!”

I shrug. “You love me.”

“It helps that you’re hot.” Devney quickly covers her hand over her mouth. “I did not mean it that like that.”

I grin and lean toward her. “You think I’m hot?”

“I think you’re mediocre. God knows your harem of . . . whatever you call them . . . think you are.”

For so long I’ve fought against telling her anything about how I feel. How those women are faceless and mean nothing to me. It’s always her. Always a brunette who I seek out, hoping to find just a piece of something like her that I can cling to, but I never say it.

Then I wonder, maybe this is the perfect time. Oliver is going to propose. Oliver will marry her, and I won’t have a god damn thing to say about it because I will have never told her.

Plus, she’s drunk.

Maybe she won’t remember it.

“Maybe so, but I’m not asking them. Plus, all the girls I’m attracted to look like you.”

Devney laughs while shaking her head. “Well, it has to be tough kissing your best friend, right?”

And in that moment, I know what I’m going to do. It doesn’t matter that it’s stupid or wrong. I no longer care about her boyfriend or how this moment will undoubtedly change everything between us because she will marry him when he asks. Devney won’t falter. She’ll cling to the safe, and I am not that, but I love her.

I lean closer and her eyes study my movement. With a trembling hand, I cup her face and brush my thumb against her soft skin. Everything freezes around us as I feel the warmth emanating from her. Our breaths mingle as the distance closes. “I don’t know, but I’d like to see if it’s tough to kiss you.”

I wait, giving her one last chance to push me away, but instead, her tongue moves against her pink lips, which is all the invitation I need.

My Review 

Lead Player is the first book I’ve read by Alex Grayson. It’s part of in K. Bromberg’s  Everyday Heros world. I fell in love with it. It was a quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Enzo was in one of the hottest bands and recently moved back to his hometown. When he meets Alaina it’s instant attraction. Their chemistry is off the charts. When they realize their best friends are getting married, Enzo knows he wants more of time with her.

It’s a whirlwind romance with a mild amount of drama. I loved the writing and these characters instantly got me hooked. I’m wanting more of them! We got the run down of Nikki and Hudson but I want them to have a story too.. 5 amazing stars!

My Review

Ahhh I loved Reckless Kiss so much! It’s so weird, but I didn’t put two and two together and didn’t even realized this was Deacon, from Here With me and Wait For Me.. I love Deacon. Even before this book, there was just something about him that screamed nice guy. When get dive deeper in to his life, we see that even as a teen, he was the sweetest most loyal guy. There’s literally nothing bad you can say about him. Reckless Kiss just cemented my love for him. 

Angelica is sweet, talented and so in love with Deacon. She was me raised in Mexico but sent back to Texas with family after she dies. Age 15 and she immediately meets Deacon. I loved the pure love these two had for each other. Once Angelica’s brother comes back to town, these two are thrown into some sort of long standing feud between their families. Oh course, they have no idea what this feud is. Kept in the dark they continue to be true to each. They make plans for the future, as Deacon tries to uncover the secrets of the past. I couldn’t finish this book fast enough! I had to see where the feud came from and if their love would actually conquer all. The written was amazing as always!
