I’ve been struggle to find the right words to write this review.

My heart was completely crushed during this book!

Hail to the queen of angst!! You know when you read a book and you literally cannot think of anything else? That’s where I’m at right now. After I finished I laid awake forever just thinking about it. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2, What He Always Knew.


Reese, Charlie’s childhood friend, comes back in to her life after 14 years. He’s suffered heartache, just as Charlie has. They reconnect since they both work at the same school. Honestly, I’m not really feeling Reese. I feel like he never, ever respects Charlies’s marriage from the first day he sees her again. And the twist at the end, confirm that she’s the douche bag I always felt he was.

Charlie and Cameron’s marriage is shaky, really shaky after circumstances they had to endure. But I’m rooting for them so hard!

Kandi Steiner’s amazing, yet torturous book has me feeling so many emotions. The level of angst in this book is so high. It’s been 2 days since I’ve finished and my heart is aching so bad just trying to write this. If you only read one book this year, you have to read What He Doesn’t Know.

About the Author:

Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.
