Release Blitz+ Review: Forsaken Trail by Devney Perry

Forsaken Trail by Devney Perry is now live!

Aria Saint-James has planned the perfect getaway: sweatpants, takeout and two weeks alone with her sister and nephew. Nowhere on that list is wearing a low-cut dress and uncomfortable heels to attend a wedding where she knows neither the bride nor the groom. Toss in her nemesis, Brody Carmichael, and her road trip to Arizona is officially a bust.
But at least there is champagne.
She blames the bubbly for falling into bed with Brody that night. Enemy or no, the billionaire is irresistible in a tux. But after their one-night tryst, Aria has no choice but to cut her vacation short, returning home to escape his devilish smile, vowing never to see Brody again.
Except Aria gets a surprise a few weeks later--she's pregnant. When he learns that she's carrying his child, Brody offers Aria the chance of a lifetime. The catch? She has to live under his roof until the baby is born.
Either they'll kill each other in nine months. Or discover love buried beneath their hate.

My Review

Forsaken Trail is the latest book by Devney Perry in the Runaway Series. This series is a huge favorite of mine. Each book I fall more in love with these characters. I love the concept of it. With this story we get a accidental pregnancy between two people that can barely stand each other.

I love Aria and Brody so much. These two are the ultimate enemies to lovers, although all that hate seems to be pent up sexual attraction each is denying. Aria takes the Cadillac to her twin Clara in Arizona, and Clara works for Brody and lives on his

property. While she loved Clara and her nephew, she hated visiting because she hated being around Brody. Now as fate would have it, after stepping in for Clara, and goes to a wedding with Brody. After hours of an actual good time, they end up together and bam Aria finds out she’s pregnant.

Watching these two navigate living together while trying to get along Is so fun. I love how these two slowly realize their feelings for each other. Both a stubborn but love hard and fierce. Forsaken Trail is another fabulous book by Devney Perry that I never wanted to end!

New Release + Review: Campus Player by Jennifer Sucevic

Release Date: December 26

Trust me when I say that Rowan Michaels fever is

alive and well at Western University. His fanbase is

legendary.

The guy is a major player.  Both on and off the field.

Girls fall all over themselves to be with him. They fill the

stands at football practice, show up at parties he’s rumored to

be at, and basically stalk him around campus.

It’s a little nauseating.

Don’t these girls have any self-respect when it comes to a hot

guy?

Fine...I’ll admit it, he’s good looking. If you’re into that kind of

thing. Which I’m not. I’ve got school and soccer to keep me

busy which is exactly why I avoid him like an unfortunate clap

diagnosis.

Too bad for me that Rowan is my father’s star quarterback. He’s practically part of

the family, attending Wednesday night dinners with us. To make matters worse,

we’re in the same major and get stuck together in classes every semester. It’s like

the universe is trying to play a cosmic joke on me. The one guy I’d like to steer clear

of is the very same one I can’t seem to get away from.

But what if Rowan isn’t the manwhore I pegged him to be?

What if one little secret has the capability to change everything between us?

*This is a mature New Adult novel with strong language and sexual situations

intended for readers over the age of 18*

My Review:

Campus Player is the first book I’ve read by Jennifer Sucevic. I really enjoyed it. Her writing completely kept me interested. There was no parts that I felt dragged on. I found that there were other parts of the book that I was invested in, other than Rowen and Demi. But those other parts never outshined the couple, if that makes sense.

I loved that this was a dual POV. When we finally get to Rowen’s POV I already had made assumptions about him. He completely shattered them, because all is not what it seems with him. He’s just the sweetest, nicest guy. There is so much more that meets the eye. I liked Demi as well. I loved their banter together.

I will definitely be checking out more of her books!!

Blog Tour: Make Me Yours by Melanie Harlow

He’s my brother’s best friend.

The hot single dad next door.

And one accidental sext later, my massive crush on him is no longer a secret.

Make Me Yours, an all-new rom com that is all too sexy from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow is available now!

He’s my brother’s best friend.

The hot single dad next door.

And one accidental sext later, my massive crush on him is no longer a secret.

It’s my own damn fault. I’m thirty years old, for heaven’s sake. I’m a kindergarten teacher and a (reasonably) responsible adult. I should know better than to get tipsy and draft a fake text listing all the dirty things I wish Officer Cole Mitchell would do to me.

I wasn’t supposed to hit send.

He wasn’t supposed to see it.

And he definitely wasn’t supposed to text back telling me to go on . . .

Because after that, things escalate quickly.

Cole is everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s sexy and protective. A devoted father to his little girl. A dedicated cop the whole town adores. The kind of guy you can trust to keep his hands to himself, even when you’re desperately hoping he won’t.

I’m not the girl he thought he’d end up with, but after all this time, I might finally get the chance to say the words I’ve always dreamed of . . . make me yours.

My Review

I am completely in love with this small town series. There must be something in the water in Bellamy Creek because this group of guys are so lovable.

Melanie Harlow has written a great friends to lovers, single dad story.

Cole Mitchell is the single dad, sexy cop of the group. He grew up next door to Griffin and Cheyanne. Cheyenne grew up as the annoying little sister, but in love with Cole almost all her life.

I loved this story so much. I instantly liked Cheyanne in book 1 Drive Me Wild. Cole is an amazing dad and super lovable. Having gone through the loss of his wife has made him apprehensive about ever getting in a relationship again. While he and Cheyanne have that attraction that he wants to ignore, it’s impossible.

While I love the push and pull, my heart went out to Cole and how hard it was for him to move forward. I loved how Cheyanne may have loved him, but kept her ground and refused to accept anything less than what she deserved.

I can’t wait for the next book in the serie. I’m hoping it’s Enzo and Bianca!

Excerpt

Darlene spoke up. “My mother passed them down to me, and I want to make sure they’re in good condition so I can leave them to Cheyenne when she gets married.” Then she crossed herself and closed her eyes, her lips moving in a quick, silent prayer.

Cheyenne ignored her mother and addressed Mariah again. “My brother and I always had to wash and dry the wedding china on holidays before we went to bed. It took forever.”

“I’d stay and help you, sis, but I have to get Blair home. Sorry.” Griffin gave her a grin that said he wasn’t the least bit sorry, and Cheyenne stuck her tongue out at him.

“Cole, why don’t you stay and give Cheyenne a hand?” My mother suggested, wrapping her scarf around her neck.

“That’s a great idea,” Darlene said brightly. Then she sort of bent over and rubbed one hip, her expression agonized. “I’d help her myself but I’ve been on my feet a lot today and the doctor said that isn’t good for my joints.”

“You should just get to bed, Darlene,”my mother said, shepherding Mariah toward the front door. “Cole will be more than happy to stay and help Cheyenne.”

“Oh, that’s okay.” Cheyenne smiled at me and shook her head. “I can handle them.”

But Darlene beamed at me, reaching over and snatching my coat out of my hands. “That’s so nice of you, Cole. I’ll just hang this in the front closet.” Before she left the room, she and my mother exchanged a look that had me wondering if the whole helping-with-the-dishes thing had been a set-up.

Either way, ten minutes later Cheyenne and I were pushing up our sleeves in the kitchen, the house dark and silent except for the running faucet and the hum of the dishwasher.

“I’ll wash, you dry?” she asked, adding dish soap to the side of the sink she’d plugged and lined with a towel.

“Sure.”

She took a plate from the stack to her left and placed it in the warm soapy water. “Oh! I almost forgot.” Slipping her rings and bracelets off, she set them on the windowsill above the sink. “So I don’t scratch anything,” she explained.

“Oh.” I glanced down at my wedding ring. “It’s okay,” she said quickly. “You don’t have to take it off.”

“It’s fine,” I said, working it off my finger and placing it on the sill next to her jewelry. For some reason, I felt compelled to explain why I still wore it all the time. “Mariah once told me she likes when I wear it, so  .  .  .”

“I think it’s nice, ”she said. “I like a guy who wears his ring. It says something about him, you know?”

I nodded, my attraction to her growing even stronger. “Still, we’d better be careful with these dishes.”

“Damn right, we’d better,” she deadpanned. “This is my fucking wedding china, Cole. If we even look at it wrong, I might end up a spinster.” She laughed as she gently scrubbed the plate with a cloth. “My God. Is she not totally ridiculous?”

“She’s pretty bad,” I agreed, taking the plate from her and carefully drying it with the soft clean towel she’d given me. “But mine wasn’t much better tonight. Did you have the feeling something was up between them as we were saying goodnight?”

Yes,” she said. “And it’s probably my fault because I made the mistake of telling my mom you bought me dinner last night. In her mind, I believe we are now betrothed.”

I laughed. “That’s all it takes, huh?”

“Apparently. Tomorrow I’ll be pregnant because we washed dishes together after dark.”

“Wow. Guess I should have worn the rubber gloves.”

My Review:

Tripp Wallace is one grumpy grump. He’s so unapologetically grouchy. And I love him for that. He’s himself and doesn’t try to be something he’s not. Yes, he can be a little bit more open or considerate, but  still love him.

Chandler Westbrook is Hollis’s cousin. Hollis, as you may know is enraged to Tripp’s brother Buzz. She’s shy and a bit of a wall flower. But underneath she’s a bit sassy when it comes to Tripp.

It’s not love at first sight for Tripp and Chandler. In fact, you’d they kind of can’t stand each other at first. These two start off slow and steady. Their time together is sweet and awkward for both. It reminded me of when I was in middle school and hung out with a guy I liked but didn’t know if he liked me but then said these sweet random flirty things that made me thing he did like me. And the sweet kisses that you want but aren’t sure you’re going to get. I love it!! It’s sweet and romantic even though Tripp isn’t naturally either.

The scene stealers? Tripp’s adorable English Bulldog Chewy and his next door teenage neighbor/dog walker Molly. I loved these two!

Hard Love is by far my favorite in the series so far! I’m sooo glad their sister True is getting her own story too. I can’t wait!!

Cover Reveal: Floored by Karla Sorensen

Title: Floored
Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: December 9, 2020
Cover Design: Najla Qamber Designs

If you've ever had a steamy one-night stand with a British football player and then find yourself pregnant with his baby, you know how Lia Ward feels.

To be fair, Lia didn't know who Jude McAllister was when they met.

Studying abroad for her master's program, all she knows is that she's a little lonely and he's very charming, even as they have an epically sexy argument about which type of football is superior.

In Jude's mind, shagging the feisty American girl is exactly what he needs. He’s been fighting the clock of his long-standing football career and the younger players primed to take his position. Proving that he can feel like his old self again—something he's been trying to do with everyone in his life—should be easier after blowing off steam with Lia.

But oh baby, when a plus sign pops up on Lia's pregnancy test, that 'one night' becomes a whole lot more.

Now Lia and Jude have to navigate their impossible-to-ignore chemistry, and prepare for the parenting game, something neither of them know how to play.

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.

My Review:

I loved this sweet friends to lovers story!

Leni and Griffin have been friends since they were teens. Living next door to each other since age nine. I loved their friendship, although each has feelings for the other, neither wants to act on it.

Leni lives with her awesome grandmother, Nan, that’s so full of like, she makes Leni seem the like grandma. Leni is shy, quite, the ultimate book worm that prefers to stay home and read a book.

I loved how great Griffin was. The perfect best friend. Honest and loyal fireman.

Overdue was a quick read. The friendship easily progressed to lovers, without the extreme unnecessary drama. I loved how the story flowed and it was wonderfully written. Nan was a huge scene stealer.

Excerpt

It doesn’t take long to get to Jack’s place. Griffin and he have been working together for years. Jack has always been the biggest flirt and serial dater up until he met Shelby. But in the span of the eighteen months, he met her, got married in Vegas, and had a kid.
It was a quick courtship.
Shelby works as an interior designer on the island. She fixes up huge houses for the rich people who will only use them for a couple of months a year. The cookout this weekend was her idea since starting Monday she’s finally back at work since having their baby, Ava, two months ago. She doesn’t really have any coworkers other than her assistant, Sarah, so Jack invited all the other firefighters and their families over too.
We park on the street along with a half dozen other trucks and a few minivans from the family men. He’s out of the truck and over on my side before I can even get my things together.
“Hand it over,” he demands, his palm up waiting for me to comply.
I play dumb, wide eyes and innocence on my face. “What are you talking about?” I climb down the too big truck, trying desperately not to fall over . . . again.
“The book that’s hiding in your bag, Leni.” He points to the tote bag hanging to my side. “Come on now, give it to me. Easiest way for you not to give in to the desire to hide and read is to remove the temptation.”
“I left my book at home. Remember, you saw me set it down.” I play dumb.
“I’ve known you since we were nine. If you think I don’t know that you have a backup book in that bag, then you’re dead wrong.”
“Ugh!” I sigh dramatically as I pull out my well-loved copy of Emma and place it in his hand. He gently tosses it onto my seat, and I smack his shoulder as he does. He knows better than to throw around my books.
“Great, now the Kindle.” His voice is stern, and I know he means it.
“Seriously? Griffin, this is not cool. I’m a grown woman. I can go a few hours without reading.”
“Sure, you can. But I know you’ll get overwhelmed by the chaos that is definitely happening in there and you’ll retreat to a quiet corner.” He leans in close enough to me that I can smell his subtle cologne and shoves his hand deep into the tote, pulling my Kindle out in one fast swipe.
“Don’t you firefighters take obeying the law seriously?” I snark at him. “Seems to me you’re stealing my possessions and my lifeline.”
“Sue me. Hell, march downtown and file a report with any cop there. Good luck getting them to pursue it. I think they have much bigger fish to fry than me holding onto your electronics while we are at a social gathering. Don’t you think?”
“Grrr,” I growl at him before stomping off toward the gate with him on my heels. Before I can even acknowledge what is happening, he’s caught up to me and has me caged between him and the gate. I work hard to steady my breath, refusing to let him see how his closeness affects me. I feel his hand slide into the back pocket of my overalls. As quick as it’s there, it’s gone, along with my cell phone. The backup to my backup plan.
“I told you, Leni, I know you. You can have this with your Kindle app back on the way home!” he yells out to me as I let the gate behind me slam in front of him.
With a huff, I turn, open the gate, and storm angrily through it. Caught in a fit of laughter, he stands there watching me leave him behind. With the loud sound of the metal gate slamming behind me mixed with the booming laughter coming from Griffin, the party seems to come to a complete standstill.
Great . . . everyone is looking my way and my first instinct is to turn and run. But to prove to him I can do this, I stand tall, throw my long red hair over my shoulder, and march myself over to Shelby.

My Review:

It doesn’t matter which name she writes under, Willa Nash aka Devney Perry, always delivers amazing books. Her writing is flawless and the story makes you feel like your in the book, living in this wonderful world she’s created. Welcome to Calamity, you’ll fall in love with Duke and Lucy.

Are you ready to dive into an entirely new small town in Montana? We get a sexy sheriff in Calamity. Duke Evans is everything you can imagine, hot, sexy, rugged. But he’s oh so sweet too. He won me over from the first moment. While Lucy and Duke’s first meeting in Calamity isn’t the greatest, the attraction these two have to each other is undeniable.

Lucy ran from Nashville, but for reasons unclear to Duke. We get a little bit of the Devney Classic Suspense in the book, which I love. It adds a great twist to the books that keep you guessing.

Then we have Duke’s relationship with Travis. Talk about making Duke even hotter! I love how close they are and how much Duke loves him. Then we get the instruction of a broody artist. All these Calamity residents are so easy to love.

The Bribe is a must read book earning an obvious 5 stars. I never wanted to put it down and am so eager for more.
