My Review:

Omg!! There is just something great about Ella Fields’s books! Kiss and Break Up was like watching an episode of a teenage show with rich kids. These characters are so deeply flawed yet I loved them so much.

Peggy is incredible. She beats to the tune of her own drum. Wearing clothes that are her own unique style that may be considered ugly by some. Yet she wears them with pride. I love that about her. Her hobbies include video games and scrapbooking and it just shows how much of an individual she is.

Dash is a completely different story. The bored rich kid that doesn’t care whatsoever what anyone thinks. He’s a complete jerk most of the time, but his very best friend is Peggy. They grew up together and just fit. While Dash is crude and insensitive to most people he does have a heart. He’s sweet and caring underneath it all but only to the select few he seems worthy.

I freaking loved their story. I also loved the stories going on in the background with their friends. I’m crossing my fingers that we’ll get their full stories too because Magnolia Cove Prep is full of crazy drama and I love it!!

Excerpt:

I fell to the bed just as a thump hit the exterior of the house, and Dash launched himself through the window. “Can you ever land gracefully?” Or you know, use the front door. For as long as we’d lived here, he’d snuck in. At first, it was due to being unsure whether my mom would still want us hanging out, but it didn’t take her long to figure out what he was doing. She didn’t care. When I’d shaken like a mouse cornered in a kitchen, she’d smiled and told me she’d never stop us from being friends. Yet the window always remained unlocked. Dash kicked off his boots, and they hit the aging floor with two bangs. “I’m all man, baby. Not a fucking cat.” Hearing him say that reminded me of why he was here. I sprang to my feet, hurtling out into the hall and into the bathroom. “What are you doing?” Too busy gargling mouthwash, I didn’t answer and spat it into the sink as he appeared in the weathered mirror behind me. “Seriously?” he asked. “You burp in my face after eating garlic pizza, so this is just fucking dumb.” “You burped in my face first.” I put the cap back on the bottle, not meeting his gaze. I couldn’t. I headed back inside the safety of my room. But I had to wonder, as I heard Dash gargling mouthwash too, if it would be considered safe again after this. Would this ruin everything by making it awkward? “Dash,” I said, wringing my hands as I paced the floor of my room. “We probably shouldn’t be doing this. What if––” “What if it’s awesome and you fall madly in love with me? Well, we already know I don’t do commitment.” A tiny laugh skittered out. “No, what if it gets awkward? I don’t want anything to change.” He took me by the shoulders in the middle of my rainbow knitted rug and leveled me with his vibrant eyes. “We’ve done some pretty awkward shit, so what’s a little mouth to mouth going to change?” I nodded, exhaling slowly, then I frowned. “Why are you doing this? I mean, I know why I want to, but you? What do you even get out of it?” He grinned. “You might be my best friend, but I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to stick my tongue down your throat.” He tipped a muscled shoulder. “Let’s just say you’ll be killing that curiosity.” “You’ve always wondered?” “I’ve got eyes, Freckles. And I don’t need my glasses to appreciate the sight of something beautiful.” I blinked. “Wow. That was actually really swe––” “Shut your inexperienced mouth and kiss me.” I was still laughing when he grabbed my face, and then I squeaked as the world changed color, and his lips lowered over mine. My heart became a trumpet, blaring in my ears at the first touch of his lips. I pulled away, startled and still laughing. “Oh, my God.” Dash’s hands were warm on my face. “That good? They barely even touched.” “No,” I choked out, pushing his hands away. “It’s just … a little weird.” “Weird?” His brows scrunched. “We’ve barely even begun.” I blew out a shaky breath, unable to look at him as my hands flapped at my sides. I stared at his white shirt, looking at where the cotton met his tanned skin. “I don’t know, Dash.” “Wanna try again?” I looked at him then, at the eager glint in his blue eyes. “It’s not weird for you?” He chewed his bottom lip which was a little fatter than the top. And it’d just been touching mine. Oh, how crazy. “Maybe a smidgen. I can just picture Margot Robbie, and I’ll be good.” I froze. “Margot Robbie?” He gestured to my hair. “The blonde hair helps.” “Jesus.” I swiped my hands down my face. “This is dumb. Let’s just forget it.” He stood there a moment, glancing around my room. “Why don’t you imagine someone? That guy from the Thor movie. You like him.” “Chris Hemsworth?” “Yeah. Imagine him.” Then he grinned, waggling his brows. “Pucker up, baby.” “You didn’t just say that.” I laughed, plopping down on the edge of my bed. “Whatever. Are we trying again or what?” The thought of Byron and that mischievous twinkle in his green eyes, the way he’d wasted no time moving in to kiss me … yeah. I needed to do this. “Okay.” I shook out my hands, bouncing a little on the bed. “Okay, let’s do this.” Dash’s lips thinned. “This isn’t a cross meet. We’re only swapping germs.” “You just had to say that, didn’t you?” My pep had officially vanished. Dash tugged me off the bed. “Close your eyes and relax.” I tried, but I was as stiff as a board when his mouth met mine again. He tasted like spearmint and cigarettes, but his hands were gentle as one held my chin and the other glided through my hair to the back of my head. Slowly, with the soft press of his lips on mine and the gentle exploration of their shape, my limbs loosened. “Open,” he whispered, his voice threaded, rougher. I did, expecting the invasion of his tongue, but the velvet feel of it only traced the inner edges of my mouth. Out of all the things I’d expected to feel when he’d suggested this crazy idea, it wasn’t relaxed, and it certainly wasn’t the buzzing sensation currently warming my insides. “This isn’t so bad,” I said when he pulled back, my voice a low exhalation. “Good. Now repeat the same to me.” My eyes were about to spring open, but he growled. “Keep them closed. Don’t think, just do and feel.” Drawing in a quick breath through my nose, I found his stubble-coated cheeks with my hands and lifted myself on my toes. I tried to do the same thing he did to me, but my tongue plunged deeper, meeting the warm softness of his. I licked it, stroking cautiously until I heard him hum, the sound vibrating up his throat and causing our lips to mash together. His hands became firmer around my head, his tongue greedier, sweeping inside my mouth before my teeth found purchase on his plump bottom lip, and pulled. He groaned, and it had me staggering back, my heart racing and my breath an unsteady, embarrassing sound. Dash swallowed, then cleared his throat as he shifted on his feet. His eyes met mine, and I looked away, down to where my mint green toes were curling over the abrasive fabric of my rug. Awkward. This was so awkward, and I prayed we hadn’t just made a huge mistake. “So that’s how it’s done.” He grabbed the TV remote and plopped onto my bed. “Got any popcorn?” I shook my head. “Wait, that’s um, it?” He started flicking through Netflix. “Well, yeah. Not much else to it. We can practice again before your date if you want, but I’m fucking starving, and we need to re-watch the last season of GoT before the new one is out.” “Oh, yeah,” I said, remembering I’d promised him that weeks ago. Hungry myself, I stepped outside, then scowled at him from the doorway. “Don’t put your socks near my pillow.” He grumbled but shifted and moved over to the other side of the bed.

Release Blitz: Come Back Home Again

Title: Come Back Home Again
Author: Jessica Prince
Series: Hope Valley
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Temperance Levine had her entire world ripped away from her at eighteen.  What had once been a life full of light and happiness was torn to shreds in the blink of an eye. With nothing left but a broken heart and painful memories, she ran away from the only home she’d ever had and tried to start over somewhere else. But the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and sometimes all you can do to heal old wounds is come back home again.
The day Temperance left him was the worst day of Hayes Walker’s life, and he’d spent every one since then merely existing. The future he’d imagined had gone up in smoke, and all he could do was take life one step at a time. But when tragedy brings Tempie back to Hope Valley, he knows this is the only shot he’ll have at getting his happiness back, and there’s no way he’ll let this chance go to waste.
After years apart, Tempie and Hayes are finally starting over and looking toward the future. But when their sleepy little town is rocked to its core, Hayes will be forced into a battle he never saw coming. Now he’s not only fighting for the future he always dreamed of, but also trying to protect the only woman he’s ever loved.

Friday nights at The Tap Room had live music, and when Tempie told me she wanted to go dancing, I’d been all over it. It had been over a week since I officially moved into the farmhouse. That shitty old apartment was a thing of the past, and my girl was in the mood to celebrate just how amazing things were going in our lives.
Rory was slinging drinks as Tempie let loose on the dance floor with Eden, Gypsy, and Nona. The guys from Makin Hardware were playing classic rock covers, and by how the girls were cheering and whooping it up, you’d have thought they were at an actual rock concert instead of a bar in a small, nowhere town in the middle of the mountains.
I let Tempie have time with her girls, choosing to hang back at the bar with Lincoln and Trick. Leo and Micah showed about thirty minutes early, and our buddy Carl shortly after.
“So, Tempie tells me you’re all domesticated now,” Carl said, taking a pull of his beer.
My eyes went back to the dance floor. Tempie was totally in her element, and I could’ve watched her all night long. “Yep.”
“I’m happy for you, man, but you couldn’t have waited another week? I’m out fifty bucks.”
My head swiveled his way. “What are you talkin’ about?”
Leo laughed, clapping me on the shoulder. “We had a pool goin’. See how long it took you to pull your thumb out and claim your woman.”
“You’re shittin’ me.” I looked around the group. “You assholes bet on me and Tempie?”
“I had the fifteenth of last month,” Lincoln grumbled into his whiskey glass. “Clearly I put too much faith in you.”
“So who won?” I asked after everyone quit laughing, curiosity getting the best out of me.
“Me.” We turned to Rory as she sat a pint in front of Leo before looking at me and winking. “Easiest grand I’ve ever made.”
“That was bullshit,” Micah griped. “You’ve known both of ’em all their lives. You had an unfair advantage.”
She shrugged, propping her hands wide on the bar. “Don’t hate. Not my fault all those cop instincts failed you. For Christ’s sake. Trick’s his partner and wasn’t even close.”
Trick shot Rory a withering look, and I let out a chuckle and shook my head as the song came to an end and the band announced they were taking a short break.
My gaze trained on Tempie as she and the girls started pushing through the crowd back to the bar. The second she got close enough, my arm shot out and wrapped around her waist, yanking her into me.
I could tell by her eyes that she was working on a nice buzz, and my dick stirred to life. My Tempie was always wild in bed, but when she had a few drinks in her, that ratcheted up to something fucking spectacular, and I was the lucky bastard who got to reap the benefits.
“You havin’ a good time, angel?”
She smiled lazily, leaning deeper into me and pressing her tits against my chest. “The best.”
“Who wants shots?” Gypsy called. Tempie and the others threw their hands up and cheered.
Rory lined four shot glasses along the bar and filled each with tequila. The girls downed them in record time, wincing and pinching their faces together as the liquor’s burn traveled down their throats.
“Careful, baby,” I muttered, my arm around her growing tighter. “I wanna be able to have fun with you tonight, and I can’t do that if you pass out on me halfway home.”
I nearly growled as the blue in her eyes heated and her eyelids dropped to half-mast. “Nothin’ but water from here on out,” she said to Rory, letting me know she was just as excited as I was for what was to come.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

My Review:

Wow!! This is my first Jessica Peterson novel and I was definitely no disappointed! Southern Player was so good!

Grace and Luke were just a great pair. Luke was super hot but also super sweet. His moms were freaking hilarious. He took his time and care with Grace. He was just everything you could love in a guy. Plus...baseball player turned hot farmer? Wow!

Grace was a character that had most of her stuff together. She was smart and successful. Had a great relationship with her friends and brother. But the was one area that wasn’t the greatest but she faced it and wanted to change it.

I was immediately hooked on this book from the very first page! I read it in one sitting. I cannot wait to go back and read the first book in this standalone series!

Blog Tour-2.jpg
Excerpt:
I can’t deny this woman a damn thing. So I climb onto the bed. The mattress dipping beneath my weight as I crawl to Gracie on my hands and knees. She is still facing away from me. So I duck down and press my lips to the spot where her neck slopes into her shoulder. Her skin, warm and soft, pebbles into goose bumps as I kiss her there, nicking the sinew with my teeth. She sucks in a breath, reaching back to dig her fingers into my hair. “Luke,” she breathes. “I love it when you say my name,” I murmur against her skin as I slowly work my way up her neck. Gracie arches against me, fingernails curling against my scalp. “Luke,” she says again. “Yeah?” “Why do you”—her voice catches when, leaning all my weight on my good arm, I reach around and cup Gracie’s breast—“you talk dirty, but you go slow. Why?” “Because.” Through the fabric of her shirt, I gather her nipple between my thumb and forefinger and draw it out. “I ain’t rushin’ with you. I been waiting ten Goddamn years to touch you, and I plan to savor every minute. But I am as God made me, baby, and He in all His wisdom gave me a real dirty mouth.” She moans when I play with her hardened nipple, giving her tit a solid squeeze. “Never thought I’d like dirty talk,” she says. “But with you—Luke, I love it.” I grin as I feather my lips over her jaw. “I noticed.” I nudge her with my nose, and our eyes meet. “Dirty talk aside. I’mma do this nice and proper like, Grace. Meaning I’m gonna take my time and learn your body and draw you out just how you want. Nothing leaves this room. Same as nothing gets left on the table. I’ll give you everything I got, and you better damn well do the same. You want that intensity we talked about? You gotta give me your all, baby girl. You gotta show me everything.” Her forehead is creased as she searches my eyes for a beat. Then another. My heart is thudding inside my chest. “I’ll try,” she says at last. She takes me by surprise when she turns her head a little more and kisses me. A quick kiss, but a hot one. An honest one. “Thank you. For getting it. For doing this with me. It means a lot, and I appreciate it more than you know.” I look at her. Cock blaring. “Thank me when I’m done.” And then I’m getting on my knees and reaching for the hem of her shirt.
