He moved his hand, slowly, watching me carefully as he dropped it down and placed it on my bare thigh.

The breath left me on a staggered gasp. Tingles flashed. Flames licking and lapping.
My body begged to come alive under his touch.
“Izzy, baby,” he murmured, and oh God, I sagged, my back pressed to the wall. Hooked. Knowing how fast this man could make me fall.
Those eyes pinned me, keeping me in place, while his hand squeezed my leg.
He edged down, nose brushing mine, a soft inhale between his lips.
Breathing me in.
Then he pressed his mouth to mine. Featherlight.
Didn’t matter how soft it was.
Lightning streaked. A crack of thunder in the air.
He pressed our mouths tighter, lips closed, just this persistent pressure that felt so right.

My 5 Star Review:
Love!! There are so many things I absolutely loved about this story!! Melanie Harlow has such a perfect way of making her stories come to life. They root themselves deep inside and make you feel so good!! It’s weird. I found myself tearing up at the most odd times of this story.
The relationships in Irresistible are my favorite. There are so many different ones that are so special in their way. Frannie’s relationship with her sisters. I’m so excited to see in future books how it grows. Her relationship with her parents. Her relationship with Mack’s girls. And of course her relationship with Mack. I loved to see her development and growth. The Frannie we see in the beginning is the story is much stronger and independent than we see in the beginning.
Now with Mack, it’s impossible not to love him. Left with his 3 daughters, he’s still fumbling at the single parent thing. I love his honesty in regards to still not knowing what the heck he’s doing.
I loved this book soo much! Its always so excited to get a new series from Melanie Harlow!! Plus, we always get to see cameos from past characters. My favorite was seeing Miles and Natalie!

I was holding my breath. I wasn’t even sure why, but it was something about the way Mack was looking at me. And the tension in his body—the taut muscles in his neck. The grip of his fingers on the edge of the counter. The set of his jaw. It gave the impression of restraint. Like he was holding himself back. Something unfamiliar hummed in the air between us. I could feel it—he wanted me the way I wanted him. No wonder I couldn’t breathe. Then he cleared his throat and turned away from me, cutting off the current. “Sure. Everybody needs to make mistakes now and then.” I’d forgotten I’d even asked the question. He turned the sink on, rinsed his dishes, and placed them in the dishwasher. I stood there staring at his muscular back, at the width of his shoulders, at the snug fit of his jeans on his butt. If I were his and he were mine, I’d go over and wrap my arms around his waist, press my cheek to his back. Then he’d turn around, winding his arms around me. My Review:
Omg!! This book! So freaking good! Mia and Max are soo good regather!
If you want laughs, this book is a must read!! I was introduced to Mia in The Billionaire’s Wake Up Call Girl (which was hilarious and also a must read) Some of the one liners are so spot on. Plus the sexy factor is through the roof!!
Max and Mia have a bit of a history from high school. They had a fierce rivalry, although there was their one summer together that they were more... how they meet up again, after so many years is so original. I don’t want to give many spoilers away. This is more of a you have to read it to experience it in its true, hilarious form.
One great thing about this book that I loved? The side characters. From Mia’s roommate to her cousin Antonio. They are sooo hilarious!! A true rom com to its core! Funny and sexy! Max and Mia are one of my favorite couples this year!!!
Excerpt:
“Are we going with cheesy puffs today?” I ask.
“Cheesy puffs,” he says hoarsely.
“Good job,” I say. “You made an excellent choice. And just for that, you get an extra bag!”
He tightens his jaw as I snatch up an extra bag.
I’m keeping him off-balance. I feel like I’m really nailing his system today. I head right for him, all the way around his desk, holding his gaze, because that’s what you do to show a dog that you’re in charge.
It hits me here that holding a man’s gaze and walking steadily toward him, never looking away, is also an incredibly sexy thing to do. Every inch of my skin feels alive with excitement.
He swivels away from his desk as I near, facing me with that strangely serious expression. His shirt cuffs are rolled partway up his muscular forearms. His hands rest on his hard thighs, fingers relaxed. Nails trimmed short. Pianist-short. Some habits die hard.
And those thumbs. They’re the same thumbs he stuck in his belt loops while he sang with all of that sweet goofiness during that lost summer. Though science tells us that the cells of the body replace themselves over time—nine years for an entirely new body. So he really is a different person in every way.
I stop in front of him, heart jackhammering in my chest, remembering the way he’d sing to me during that lost summer.
Even when there was a full auditorium, it was as if he was singing to me and me alone, gaze dancing under that floppy hat. The song was about young, hopeful love. It’s how I felt that summer.
It meant nothing to him. A dalliance of proximity. The second we were back at school, he returned to his cold and cynical mode. Too cool for me.
Quizzically, he tilts his head. “Mia?”
Have I been standing there weirdly long?
I think back to his book. If you feel your control slipping, simply give her another reward for something.
“And as a reward for extra predictable behavior…” I toss one bag onto his desk and pull open the other one with a loud crinkle-snap.
His eyes flare.
I remove one puff from the bag and hold it out to him. “Open,” I whisper, pulse racing. “Open for your prize.”
He watches me sternly. Opening for his prize is the last thing he’s going to do. Nobody pushes Max Hilton around.
The book doesn’t have instructions for outright rebellion. The book doesn’t say how sexy that might be. How a person’s beauty can squeeze deep into your belly. How you might really want to kiss him. To straddle him and sink into him and make him remember. Make him come back.
“That’s not open.” I nudge his lower lip with the cheese puff. “Do better,” I say.
He grabs my wrist.
My breath quickens.
His big, warm hand, encircles my wrist snugly and completely. His challenging gaze deepens, like he can see right into me.
The bright orange cheese puff falls from my fingers.
Slowly, he pulls my hand toward him, pinning me with his eyes.
I swallow, mouth dry. “Are you going to eat my fingers instead?” I whisper.
He brushes his lips over my knuckle, soft and warm and smooth as velvet.

Holy Smokes!!! This book was so good!!! I freaking loved it so much!! The Hartigan’s is one of my favorite family series!!
Fallon is probably my favorite character I’ve read all year!! She makes no excuses about her love of a make up free face, the fact that she would totally get lost in a Sephora, doesn’t like mani-pedis. I can completely relate to her. I’m right there with her, in her lack of fashion interest. She snarky and sassy. She’s self admittedly not nice. But she is! At least in her own way. I love her so much!!
Zach broke my heart with all the walls he had up. They were completely understandable though. I got it. He’s so down on his luck. But his heart is so kind, underneath all his gruffness.
These characters together? Absolute perfection! Tomboy is a must read!!

The blaring ring echoed off the bare walls of the nearly empty mansion as Fallon Hartigan marched down the hallway with murder on her mind. As soon as she got to the source of that ringing, she was going to give Harbor City what they wanted most and kill the most-hated man in hockey. Sure, she might get arrested, but the metro area would probably throw her a parade. She turned the corner and stopped dead in her tracks outside the open double doors leading to the overpriced defenseman’s bedroom. The man—who’d been puking his guts up less than twenty-four hours ago—was in the middle of a king-size bed, wearing nothing but a smirk and a bed sheet that was draped so low across his hips that she could see miles of those V lines south of his hard abs. Like she was a newbie nurse on her first set of rounds, her breath caught, and a blush she most definitely did not want to appear started to burn her cheeks. Damn her pasty Irish skin. Still, she had to admit, if only to herself, that the view was fucking amazing. The man was a professional athlete and had the muscular, inked-up chest to prove it. Practically against her will, her gaze traveled over the plentiful ink across his pecs and lingered a few breaths too long on his silver nipple rings. Seemingly indifferent to her perusal, Zach swiped his thumb across his cell phone’s screen, ending the incessant ringing. “About time,” he said, his voice a mellow, low rumble. “I’ve been ringing for you for almost ten minutes.” He dropped his phone on the small table next to the bed and then lounged against the headboard, managing somehow to look down his nose at her even with their current height differential. Forget killing him, she was going to go after her bestie. It was Lucy’s fault Fallon was even here. She squeezed her eyes shut and counted to ten as she recalled all the reasons why the man was a menace and not the solution to her three-month-long sexual dry spell. He was a selfish player. He was surly to the press, to the fans, and probably to his neighbor’s dog. He’d banged a puck bunny tattooed with the logo of the Ice Knights’ most hated rival. She counted to another ten while remembering why she couldn’t off him. He was Lucy’s client. He was, for some incomprehensible reason, one of her bestie’s friends. He had the skills to turn around the Ice Knights’ sofar shitty season if he could remove the giant chip from his shoulder and start playing as if he actually liked hockey again. Exhaling a deep breath, she reopened her eyes and barely noticed his muscular shoulders this time as she moved away from the door. There. All better. She’d managed to pack away the Hartigan attitude, and her temper hadn’t even made an appearance. Bully for her. Now to get back to that cool, clinical demeanor she strove for whenever she was on the clock. “You rang?” she asked, managing to keep a good 73 percent of her annoyance out of her tone as she walked farther into the room.
